Dunkirk PD gets donation for new K-9
The Dunkirk Police Department has received an anonymous donation for a new K-9. The city’s Common Council accepted the $14,500 donation at its meeting Tuesday.
The donation was made to honor the city’s current K-9, Gunny, who is expected to retire soon. It will also fund his replacement.
Officer Brian Dietzen is in charge of Gunny, and the dog will live with him after it is retired, Councilwoman Nancy Nichols told the OBSERVER.
She added that Dietzen will also be the handler for the new K-9.
