A 65-year-old Fredonia man died in a tractor accident Saturday.
Firefighters, Chautauqua County sheriff's deputies and county Tech Rescue members responded at about 3 p.m. to Lamberton Road in the town of Pomfret for a report of a tractor rollover.
In a news release, the Sheriff's Office said Andrew V. Lawrence was operating his tractor attempting to pull out another tractor that was stuck in the mud.
"The tractor Lawrence was operating rolled over backwards," the department said.
Lawrence was pronounced deceased at the scene.
