Input sought on Dunkirk mural project

The City of Dunkirk Development Department will play host to a community input meeting for a Downtown Dunkirk Mural Project on Monday, June 5 at 5 p.m. in the Mayor’s Conference Room located on the second floor of Dunkirk City Hall. The meeting will be facilitated by Lindsey Fisher, Navigator for the Liberty Partnership Program (LPP) through Jamestown Community College.

Students from Dunkirk High School, under the leadership of a professional artist with the SUNY JCC Liberty Partnership Program, will be painting a mural on a to-be-determined building in the city. The project is part of the LPP’s summer programming to provide a community service opportunity to students. The students are seeking community input on potential mural ideas. The project partners are looking to solicit ideas or concepts city residents would like to see incorporated in the mural reflecting the theme of positivity, inspirational, or reinforcing an equal, diverse, and inclusive city.

The collaboration would like to invite members of the public to attend the meeting to become engaged with this project, ask questions, and provide feedback.
