Sinclairville library sets events for the month of May

SINCLAIRVILLE -- The Sinclairville Free Library announces the following programs and events during May:

¯ Write Circle 9 a.m. Fridays. Hybrid program for writers. Please contact the library for the link to join online or register for the in-person meeting.

¯ Sinclairville Samplers each Friday at 10:30 a.m. Quilting, knitting, crochet, embroidery and fun with friends while you create together.

¯ Makerspace: LEGOS, marble runs, Kinex, Building kits and challenges, craft kits and supplies. For all ages. Parent/caregiver must stay with children. Drop in program.

¯ Child's Play Story Hour Wednesdays from 1 to 2 p.m. Registration is required. For ages birth to preschool. Participate in stories, songs and fingerplays. Take away craft or activity for extended learning.

¯ Family STEAM Night "The Three Chihuahuas Find a Home" on Thursday, May 11 from 6 to 7 p.m. Local author Kathleen Lombardo will read her picture book about friendship and dreams coming true and answer questions about writing the book. Special guest appearance by the chihuahuas following the reading.

¯ Family History: Saturday, May 13 at 10 a.m. A program for anyone interested in genealogy and writing to preserve family history. Will meet the second Saturday monthly.

¯ Author visit on Monday, May 15 at noon. Jenean Roth will present her new release, Cassie. Copies will be available for purchase and signing by the author. "Cassie was beckoned home only to find tragedy. Out of the loss of tragedy came a girl and a man. Can she grow up, step up and woman up enough to keep either of them?"

¯ In-person book club on Monday, May 15 at 7 p.m. to discuss "Love, Lucy" by Lucille Ball. Online book club meeting on Monday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m. to discuss "The Dictionary of Lost Words" by Pip Williams. Please contact the library to receive the link.

¯ Jazz Ensemble will perform on Thursday, May 25 at 6 p.m. led by Cassadaga Valley Central School music instructor Nicole Zenns.

¯ Library Board meeting on Wednesday, May 31 at 6 p.m. Board meetings are open to the public. Materials to be discussed will be posted on the library website in advance of the meeting.
