On Flag Day, in the late afternoon, the Cassadaga American Legion Post 1280 held the flag burning ceremony. Post Commander Rusty Jones held a brief ceremony prior to the burning, explaining that these flags have been used and have served, and the proper method of disposal is by burning them. Chaplain Richard J. Haas gave the opening prayer, and Ron Boyland played the bugle. Past post Commander Karl Lawson inspected the flags and led the boy scouts who placed the flags to be burned. Archie Colton and Mike Lehnen of the Cassadaga Volunteer Fire Department, with a firetruck, were present for the burning of the flags. The ceremony was attended by many.

Starting at $3.50/week.
