Lakewood-Busti police were investigating a shooting incident that occurred Wednesday morning in the village.

Chris DePonceau, Lakewood-Busti police chief, said a single round was discharged from a firearm around 9:30 a.m. He said the shooting occurred during a dispute between two neighbors within Lakewood.

DePonceau stressed there was no active shooter. A vehicle that may have been involved was located Wednesday morning; no arrests were announced.

The round fired did not strike anyone; no injuries have been reported.

An investigation was ongoing with the Lakewood-Busti Police Department, DePonceau said.
