Ten years to be exact.
And Lucille Ball Little Theatre of Jamestown President Holly Weston would not have it any other way. She added “Spamalot” was first performed in 2013 and about 90 percent of the cast members are reprising their roles.
“And it’s one of those shows over the last 10 years that I’ve constantly heard how, how many cast members wanted to do it again. They wanted to come back and do it again. So we’ve, with a 83-plus year history, obviously, we’ve done many shows, at different times in our history, but this is the first time that we’ve done it in really such a short window of time and had so many of the original cast members,” Weston said.
The theater’s website, lbltj.com, said “Spamalot” is a musical lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.” “Spamalot” retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people. Did we mention the bevy of beautiful showgirls? The outrageous, uproarious, and gloriously entertaining story of King Arthur and the Lady of the Lake will delight audiences as they search for the Holy Grail and “always look on the bright side of life.”

Weston is very happy about the reunion.
“I think it’s great. You know, I think as an actor, there are those special shows that we’ve all been in, that we wish we could do again and not just do the show again you want to bring the same cast back together,” Weston added.
Weston said in reprising the same roles, things that may have gone wrong in the past can be fixed while being able to celebrate the things that are loved most of those shows.
“So in my opinion, as a performer, they (cast members) are like living the dream with their favorite show, and to get to do it all over again,” Weston noted.
Jim Foley is reprising his role as King Arthur, and is looking to also reprise a night of silliness and hilarity.
“The first time we put on this show was probably the most fun theatre experience I’ve ever had. And beyond the experience itself, the cast of this show ten years ago turned into my closest circle of personal friends. We’ve been there for each other for a decade now, and this is like a celebration of an anniversary of sorts. What could be more fun than getting back on stage with some of your closest friends and getting to relive good times with such a fun and goofy show? The lines came back quickly. I never stopped singing the songs, so they were still there. The staging is similar enough, I sometimes feel like we did this last month rather than ten years ago. I hope that our audience returns to laugh again with us, and that new people will turn out to enjoy a night of silliness and hilarity,” Foley said.
Weston said the other actors returning to reprise their roles from 2013 include JR Liffner as Sir Robin, the Not-Quite-So-Brave-as-Sir-Lancelot; Scott Costantini as Sir Lancelot the Homicidally Brave; Steve Wendell as Sir Dennis Galahad, the Dashingly Handsome; Andrew Garvey as Patsy, King Arthur’s trusty servant/steed and constant companion; Matt Jones as the Historian (and others); Zander Chase as Not Dead Fred; and Tara Chase as an ensemble member.
Weston said the casting requirements for the show have many of the roles and the knights of the roundtable portraying multiple smaller roles, which is how the production was cast in 2013.
“With so many actors returning for the 2023 production, in combination with busy summer schedules for these actors, (director) Adam Owens did make the decision prior to auditions to cast these roles with different actors to allow more community members to participate in the production,” Weston added.
More cast members include Adrienne Reuss as The Lady of the Lake; Jon Thompson as Sir Bedevere, the Strangely Flatulent (and others); Tristan Spillane as Concorde, Lancelot’s trusty servant/steed (and others); Caleb Foley as Brother Maynard, Camelot’s clergyman (and others); and Victor Fernandez as Sir Bors (and others).
The ensemble is Ayri Brady, Zulieka Espinal, Melissa Froah, Bradley Galleazzo, Holland Isaacson, Robbie Martiny, Kate Mesazaros, Hayley Pierce, Justine Russ, and Michael Stenberg.
Weston said a performance track will be used for the music.
The performances are scheduled for Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Sunday at 2 p.m., July 21 at 7:30 p.m., July 22 at 7:30 p.m., July 23 at 2 p.m., and Aug. 5 at 12 p.m.
