Lighthouse plans yard sale

The Dunkirk Historical Lighthouse is once again hosting a large yard sale from Aug. 11 to 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the newly erected pavilion. The sale is being organized by volunteers of the lighthouse. Lighthouse operates on donations, fund raisers and grants as well as now rentals of the pavilion for wedding, parties, reunions. Items for sale are donated by the generous friends of the Lighthouse. Gently used saleable items can be dropped off at the lighthouse from 10-4pm on August 9 & 10th. We are accepting furniture, small appliances, knick-knacks, books, children’s toys, jewelry, etc. We are not accepting clothes, large appliances, TVs, computers, printers, etc. Hot dogs, water, soda and snacks will be available to purchase during the yard sale. Items that are not sold and taken to the Lakeshore Humane Society yard sale being held on Aug. 19 and 20 at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds. The Dunkirk Lighthouse is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for tours or to just enjoy the grounds; last tour goes out at 3. Hours will change for September and October, which is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with last tour at 1 p.m. There are still openings for Ghost Tours; feel free to contact the lighthouse at 716-366-5050 for information. If anyone is interested in becoming a volunteer for lighthouse as a tour guide or for events and odd jobs; feel free to stop by.
