City seniors announce upcoming events

The Dunkirk Senior Center will be sponsoring a fish dinner on Friday, Sept. 22. Cost of the dinner will be $5. Dinner will consist of baked fish, potato salad, macaroni salad, cole slaw and roll and butter. Tickets will go on sale on Thursday, Sept. 7 in the Center office. The Senior Center will be sponsoring a flea market, bake sale, craft sale on Saturday, Oct. 7. Information will be posted at the Center. Doors open at 9 a.m.
Save the date:
¯ Oct. 27 for the Halloween party.
¯ Dec. 5 for Seneca Niagara with a tribute to the Carpenters. A shopping trip is also being planned.
The Senior Center will be sponsoring a trip to Wheeling, WVa. from Nov. 14 to 16. Participants will be staying at the Wheeling Island Casino and will also be attending the Festival of Lights at Oglebay.
Information will be posted at the Center. In October, the Center is sponsoring a trip in the Amish country with goodies in Cherry Creek and lunch at the South Dayton Hotel. Information will be posted at the Center. Anyone that will be traveling to Atlantic City is asked to attend a meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 23 at 10:30 a.m. at the Senior Center. At least one person per room should attend. Information regarding the trip will be discussed.
There will be a general membership meeting of the Dunkirk Senior Center on Tuesday at 10 a.m. All members are invited to attend. AM Insurance will be at the Center on Aug. 24 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with any questions regarding insurance. A Spanish- speaking agent is available.
The next big bingo game will be Wednesday, Sept. 6. Doors open at 4 p.m. with a light dinner being served at 4:30 p.m. Bingo is played at 5 p.m. Dominoes are played on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Mahjongg is Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. Pinochle is Monday and Friday at 1 p.m. Exercise is Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9 a.m. Hand and Foot card game is played Friday at 1 p.m. Social time is Thursday at 11:30 a.m. Attendees bring their own lunch and can enjoy 25 cent bingo.
