Washington Park Gazebo gets new steps

Submitted Photo Natalie Luczkowiak (left) and Nicole Clift stand next to new steps at the Washington Park gazebo.

The gazebo at Washington Park in Dunkirk has new steps, built in July.

First Ward Councilwoman Natalie Luczkowiak is taking credit for the move.

“With my persistence and the diligent work of Nicole (Clift), new steps were finally built in July of this summer,” she said.

Clift is Dunkirk’s administrator for its Community Development Block Grants. Luczkowiak inquired about funding for replacing the steps, which were dilapidated. Clift “let me know this would be a good project to be executed from our yearly CDBG funds allotted each year,” she said. “She reminded me that the funds are to be used in areas where there are low to moderate income neighborhoods, and Washington Park fits this description.”

Luczkowiak called it “a great example of how the council works with our city’s administration to achieve results.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
