Westfield hospital begins parking lot project
WESTFIELD — AHN Westfield Memorial Hospital has begun a project to improve its parking areas, which will have a temporary impact on where patients and visitors can park.
The first phase will began Monday, focusing on the EMS entrance, the front patient parking lot and the exit onto Route 20. WMH will also be adding additional parking behind the medical arts building that is accessible from Myer Drive. Patients and visitors should park in the west parking lot during this week.
The second phase will begin Sept. 25 and will include the main parking areas for the medical arts building and Emergency Department. Patients with scheduled appointments will need to either park in the front parking lot or employee lot behind the generator. WMH will provide assistance for patients who need it while moving to and from the building.
Additional work will be completed on the employee parking lot during this time period, but this will not have an impact on the public.
According to Rodney Buchanan, WMH Administrator, the work will make the lots safer and will provide additional needed spaces. “We apologize in advance for any inconvenience and appreciate the public’s patience during this brief time period,” Buchanan said.
