SILVER CREEK – Anderson-Lee Library, located at 43 Main Street in Silver Creek has announced programming for the month of April. Programs are free and open to the public. Registration is required unless stated otherwise, to ensure enough seating and materials for all patrons attending the program. Pre-school Storytime for children ages 2-5 on Thursday mornings April 4, 11, 18, and 25 with Miss Jill at 10:30 am. Children will participate in reading, singing, rhymes and fun crafts. Pre-registration is requested.

School Age Storytime for children 6-12 years of age on Thursday mornings April 4, 11, 18, and 25 at 10:30 am with Miss Amy. Stories, crafts, games, and other activities are offered. Pre-registration is requested.

The Secret Society of the Twisted Stitchers: Friday April 5 from noon-2pm Starting April 12 the time will change to 2-4pm. This club is for all who love handiwork. Ages 10 and older and all skill levels are welcome! Please bring your own supplies. Just getting started? For knitting, bring size 10/10.5 bamboo needles and a light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). For crochet, bring a size H hook and light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). Come and learn or come and work on a project with others who love to knit, crochet, embroider, quilt etc.! No registration required. You do not need to commit to each week to attend. Please stop in and stitch!

Chess Club: All skill levels are welcome to attend Chess Club! We will meet on Fridays from 2-3pm. For ages 10+ and registration is not required. Please stop in and play!

Baby Animals from Sun-Dance-Kids Farm: Monday, April 1 at 2pm. Farmer Mike Morton will bring a variety of baby animals for a visit! Please register to we can make room for all who wish to attend.

Make a Popsicle Stick Birdfeeder: Tuesday, April 2 at 2pm. Design and assemble a birdfeeder using popsicle sticks. We will be using hot glue guns for this project, so best for ages 6 and older. Pre-registration is required to ensure enough materials for all.

Introduction to Beekeeping: Saturday, April 13 at 10:30am. Are you interested in keeping honeybees and unsure how to start or what is involved? Join experienced beekeepers and learn everything you need to know to get started: how to order honeybees, maintenance of hives, common diseases, how to make or order hive boxes, recommended pollinator plants, and much more!

Invasive species are non-native species that can cause harm to the environment, the economy or to human health. Invasive species are one of the greatest threats to New York’s biodiversity.
