Grape Belt Seniors announce trips, events

Grape Belt Seniors take part in exercise programs.

Grape Belt Seniors meet on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays for their aerobics and weights class from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Masonic Lodge in Fredonia. They also have game day on Fridays at 10:15. They recently had their pot luck luncheon on Wednesday with many friends gathering and enjoying delicious dishes.

Trips for this year are as follows:

— May 23 they are going to a comedy show “The Reverend Mother” in Albion. First stop will be at the Millers Bulk Foods & Bakery, then lunch at The Black North Inn. The show will follow lunch and they have one last stop at Olivers Candies. Leaving from Harbor Freight parking lot at 8:30 a.m. and returning at 6 p.m.

— June 27 they are going to a special event “SENIOR PALOOZA”, at Spring Lake Winery at Varalla Vineyards. There will be wine tastings, a tour of the vineyards, a fantastic lunch prepared on site by the spring lake chef !! They will be making a S’more and have a fun filled afternoon with “MUSIC BINGO” with Buffalo’s favorite entertainer “Joel Dombrowski” it’s a fun filled trip so don’t miss out. Leaving at 9:30 a.m. from Harbor Freight and returning at 5:30 p.m.

— June 30th is our trip to Toronto to see the Yankee-Blue Jay baseball game. Seats are in the 100 level, section 138, at a 1:37 game time. No worries for rain because there is a dome. Need to sign up and pay by April 29. Leaving at 8:30 a.m. and return at 8 p.m. Must have an enhanced license or passport for this trip.

— July 16 is the “Dam Good Trip” and it goes to the Mount Morris Dam with a presentation at the Dam overlook, and the visitors center offers interactive exhibits. Next we go to Letchworth State Park for lunch at the Glen Iris Inn and a stop at William Pryor Museum. Our final stop will be in Piffard, THE ABBEY OF THE GENESEE, the home of the Cistercian Monks. We will have an opportunity to attend the 2 p.m. chant in the Chapel as well as time to stop in their gift shop and bakery. Each person will get a loaf of Monks Bread to take home !! Payment is due soon and choice of entry for your lunch. Leaving at 8 a.m. and returning at 5 p.m.

— Aug. 1 we are doing “CAVE OF THE WINDS” which is an amazing experience and you get to stand under the falls !! Cave of the winds includes their Indoor Multimedia Experience, in the world changed here pavilion. This is an experience you won’t want to miss !! We will have a fantastic lunch at the Top Of The Falls Restaurant in the Niagara Falls State Park. Our first stop of the day will be Kelly’s Country Store. Leaving at 9:30 a.m. and returning at 5:15 p.m.

— Sept. 9 is our History and Art Trip, which is Old Fort Niagara & Castellani Art Museum. We will tour the Fort in the morning, have lunch at Griffon Brewery & Gastropub, enjoy stunning riverfront views, and a variety of dishes at Griffon Lewiston with an award-winning menu. Next will be the Museum located in Niagara University with a guided tour, enjoy a workshop and their many exhibits. Leaving at 8:30 a.m. and returning at 6 p.m..

— Oct. 24 is “Spirits & Spirits” Autumn Dar Trip of Spirits, Psychic Stories and Fun Filled Music Entertainment !! There’s a visit to a 1882 Victorian funeral home where you will take part in a gallery reading from an accomplished psychic. We will enjoy tastings at two Chautauqua area wineries, plus BBQ lunch at a vineyard. Expect some great surprises along the way, enroute we have fun entertainment on board the motor coach. Wine, whimsy, music and more. On board guide is Buffalo’s own Dombrowski. Leaving at 10:30 a.m. with return at 4 p.m.

Dec. 3 we go to Seneca Niagara Casino for the “Rat Pack Holiday Show.” This is an amazing group that makes you feel like they are the original performers, they are so good. You get that day the matinee show, $20 Seneca Slot Dollars, $10 food all for $99. You do need a valid photo ID to receive casino incentive. Leaving at 9 a.m. and returning at 5:30 p.m.
