Flags flying in Cassadaga

Photograph by John Sipos, Village Historian

Memorial Day will be here soon. The Cassadaga American Legion Post 1280 flag committee put more than 250 American flags on poles and then placed the flags on the posts throughout the village. Each flag flown is in memory of someone, and there is a small plaque by each flag identifying who the flag is in memory. Shown is RJ Haase III putting up American flags along Dale Drive in the village. Haase had created a special pole to put the flags in place so that he did not have to use a ladder. The flag program this year was managed by Fred Rosenow. The American flags will remain in place throughout the summer and into the early fall.
