Summer schedule starts Saturday in Sheridan
SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Historical Society will begin its summer schedule with an Open House on Saturday May 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The building, which houses displays, artifacts, and memorabilia of the town, is located at 2702 Route 20 at Center Road in Sheridan. Speakers are being planned for the summer months. In June there will be a presentation of Early Redware Pottery, and July will feature the History of Local Railroads, dates and times to be announced, please watch for more information.
There will also be open hours prior to the talks. The August speaker will talk on Eagle Bay and that will be on Aug. 17 at 7 p.m.
The Historical Society will participate in the outdoor concert at the Sheridan Municipal Complex on Wednesday evening, June 26 with a bake sale. The Cassadaga Area Band will perform beginning at 6:30.
The Sheridan Historical Society always welcomes new members interested in the history of our area. Regular monthly meetings are held on the last Monday of the month. The society’s website, www.sheridanhistorical.org contains newsletters and more information including the upcoming events.
