Opening day for Dunkirk Farmers Market is Wednesday

Wednesday kicks off the 2024 Dunkirk Farmers Market season. The Market will take place every Wednesday through Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (rain or shine) outside the Dunkirk Senior Center at 45 Cliffstar Court under the City’s new agrarian pavilion complex.

“We are excited to announce that Refresco will once again be the Title Sponsor for our 2024 Dunkirk Farmers Market season! On behalf of Mayor Wdowiasz, and the City of Dunkirk, we would like to thank Refresco for their continued support of the Market. Their support for our community and local farmers is so greatly appreciated!” says E.J. Hayes, City of Dunkirk Deputy Director of Planning & Development.

Hayes also announced that the Market has once again been selected to the Field & Fork Network’s Double Up Program, “We are grateful to Field & Fork Network for their continued funding support through the NYS Double Up Food Bucks Program. The program allows SNAP users to double up to $20 of their SNAP dollars at the Market. SNAP money can go towards additional fresh produce. It’s a wonderful program helping SNAP users access fresh WNY foods, while keeping SNAP dollars local to support our farmers. We are also excited to announce that the program will begin 2-weeks earlier this season.” The Double Up Program will begin June 19 and runs through the end of the season.

Roberto Fred Farms and Richard Feinen Farms will return to the Market weekly in 2024. They offer a wide variety of vegetables, fruit, herbs, preserves, honey, and vegetable plants. Conklin Family Farms will also be returning this season to provide a wonderful assortment of beef, pork, eggs and select dairy products. Gardens of Eternity is back offering natural body products & soaps, washcloths, breads, jams and dip mixes. Additionally, Gelati’s Italian Ice and Sunshine Honey will be returning to the Market this season.
