Two restaurants looking to open doors in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD – Two more fast-food restaurants may be coming to the Village of Lakewood.

Quattro Development, LLC has submitted an application proposing the Chipotle and Popeye’s Co-Development Project at 318 E. Fairmount Ave., which is where the Chautauqua Mall is located.

According to a legal advertisement, the proposed site plan indicates the request for the use of the empty parking spaces in front of JCPenney and to redevelop the existing space. The plan is to take the space and build two new buildings to house Chipotle and Popeye’s fast-food restaurants.

The redevelopment will include reduction of impenetrable surfaces and the addition of green space which are proposed rain gardens.

“We are exploring opportunities to bring our real food to the Lakewood community,” said Annie Gradinger, a representative for Chipotle.

Already at the mall location, near JCPenney, there is a Taco Bell restaurant.

A Popeye’s drive-through restaurant is being built in Dunkirk.

In the April 8 edition of Dunkirk OBSERVER, Braden Carmen reported that The Popeye’s restaurant will be located in the Dunkirk Multiplex plaza on Bennett Road, within sight of the Dunkirk-Fredonia Thruway entrance.

The Lakewood Zoning Board of Appeals/Planning Board will hold a public hearing June 13, at the Lakewood Village Hall, 20 W. Summit St., to review the application.
