3 charged with drug possession after traffic stop
Three Jamestown residents face drug charges after a traffic stop Monday.
Casey L. Haberberger, 50, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and traffic tickets, Tracey M. Haberberger, 50, was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, and Steven D. Schrecengost, 30, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop around 5:35 p.m. Monday.
City police officers were patrolling in the area of Washington Street and Forest AVenue when they reportedly saw Casey L. Haberberger driving a vehicle and knew Haberberger did not possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York state. Officers pulled the vehicle over, with the driver stopping in a business parking lot on Prospect Street. Inside the vehicle, officers identified passengers to be Tracey M. Haberberger and Steven D. Schrecengost.
Officers report seeing drug paraphernalia in plain view inside of the vehicle. A search allegedly revealed a quantity of methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine in each occupant’s respective property while officers also reportedly found packaging materials and numerous digital scales with residue on their surfaces.
All three occupants were charged and taken to the city jail until they could be arraigned.
