Candidate for Family Court Judge faces charges
A candidate for Family Court judge is facing charges in connection with a complaint of possible Election Law violations.
Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department reports it received a report on Oct. 8. Following an investigation, Sally A. Jaroszynski was charged with two counts of misconduct in relation to petitions, per state Election Law.
Jaroszynski will answer the charges at a later time.
Jaroszynski is seeking the position being vacated by Judge Jeffrey A. Piazza at the end of the year.
She is a registered Republican and will be on the Working Families Party line in the upcoming Nov. 5 election.
She is a lifelong resident of Chautauqua County and has been practicing law in Chautauqua County Family Court for over 30 years. She has been elected as the Ellicott Town Justice and has been serving in that position for 15 years.
New York State Election law notes eight potential reasons for the charges.
