October events set at Anderson-Lee Library

SILVER CREEK — Anderson-Lee Library, located at 43 Main St. has announced programming for the month. Programs are free and open to the public. Registration is required unless stated otherwise, to ensure enough seating and materials for all patrons attending the program. To register for programs, call the library at 716-934-3468, stop by 43 Main Street, message us on Facebook, or visit www.andersonleelibrary.org and click on our events tab for easy online registration. You can also sign up for email/text reminders when you register online.

The library will be closed Monday, Oct. 14 for Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

— Lego Club for ages 5-12, Thursday, Oct. 10 at 6:30 p.m. Build the challenge of the day, pick a challenge card or free build. Your choice! Limit of 10 children and pre-registration is required.

— Pre-school and school-age storytime with Miss Jill, Thursday at 10:30 am. Both groups will meet with Miss Jill today!

— Preschool Storytime for children ages 2-5 on Thursday mornings Oct. 10, 17, and 31 with Miss Jill at 10:30 am. Children will participate in reading, singing, rhymes and fun crafts. Pre-registration is requested.

— School Age Storytime for children 6-12 years of age on Thursday mornings October 10, 17, and 31 at 10:30 am with Miss Amy. Stories, crafts, games, and other activities are offered. Pre-registration is requested.

— The Secret Society of the Twisted Stitchers: Fridays from 2-4pm (except for Friday September 13. No meeting due to the used book sale) This club is for all who love handiwork. Ages 10 and older and all skill levels are welcome! Please bring your own supplies. Just getting started? For knitting, bring size 10/10.5 bamboo needles and a light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). For crochet, bring a size H hook and light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). Come and learn or come and work on a project with others who love to knit, crochet, embroider, quilt etc.! No registration required. You do not need to commit to each week to attend. Please stop in and stitch!

— Annual Trick or Read Halloween Party, Thursday, October 24 at 6pm. Come in costume, play games, craft, read stories, and receive treats! This is a family friendly, non-scary event for all ages.

On Halloween, trick-or-treaters are invited to stop by.

Anderson-Lee Library is open to the public Monday and Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library is closed Wednesday and Sunday.
