CHRIC to celebrate National Neighborworks Week In Dunkirk

Chautauqua Home Rehabilitation and Improvement Corporation (CHRIC) will be celebrating NeighborWorks Week June 7-14. During this week, the NeighborWorks network celebrates how organizations and residents work together to create opportunity, strengthen neighborhoods, and build a better future for all.

CHRIC will be hosting a celebratory community gathering on Saturday, June 7, from 1-4 p.m. in Washington Park in the city of Dunkirk.

The event will promote both CHRIC and NeighborWorks, celebrate NeighborWorks Week, and help educate the community about lead hazards. It will also serve as the kickoff for the city of Dunkirk’s Lead Capacity Building Grant program. They will offer free games and prizes for attendees, especially children, to promote lead safety and share CHRIC’s other services with the public.

CHRIC officials note that “”Creating Homes, Building America” reflects our belief that when we invest in housing, we invest in people — and when people thrive, communities thrive.”

NeighborWorks America has more than 46 years of impact. Chartered by Congress in 1978, NeighborWorks America supports nearly 250 network organizations through grants, training and partnerships that create safe, affordable housing and promote community well-being.
