A Frewsburg wedding venue is looking to change ownership.
During the Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency Board of Directors meeting, a loan was approved to Ivory Acres Wedding, LLC.
Rich Dixon with the county IDA, said Ivory Acres is located at 191 Ivory St. in the town of Carroll.
“This is a premiere event center specializing in weddings,” he said.
Dixon noted the property has a loan with the IDA with a balance of around $14,000 still owed. Dixon said Steve and Kristi Bogart, and Matthew and Renae Barie would like to purchase the wedding venue from the current owners who are looking to go into “other projects.”
Ivory Acres Wedding LLC is seeking a $108,000 loan from the county IDA, which will also be used to pay off the existing IDA loan. The new ownership group is also getting a bank loan and is investing $30,000 of its own money.
Dixon said Ivory Acres attracts many tourists and out-of-town guests when weddings and other events are held there.
He said the concern is that if it is not sold, it could be closed and there would be a loss of tourism.
“They get a lot of people coming here from out of the state and out of the county,” Dixon said.
The loan will be for 15 years at 4% interest.
The loan was unanimously approved.
According to the company website, Ivory Acres opened in the spring of 2018.
The 10-acre property is equipped with a barn built in the 1900s that has been retrofitted with wheelchair accessible restrooms, changing suites, reception space, dance floor, bar, balcony, and a preparation area for caterers. Also, on the property is an 1,800 square foot pavilion with a backdrop of the woods and a spring fed pond.
