Dunkirk Pier music begins tonight

West of the Mark members, from left, David Lipowski, Frank Scarfone, Bruce Rounds and Jay Urbaniak will perform this Saturday evening at the Dunkirk Pier during the Dunkirk Walleye Festival.

The Dunkirk Walleye Festival, presented by Dunkirk Festivals and Primitive Patriot Outdoors, will include live music open to the public tonight and Saturday afternoon and evening on the Dunkirk Pier.

Scott Celani Band’s Tom Petty Tribute will take the stage at 7 p.m. today. Singer-songwriter Celani and his supporting players have been treating audiences for the past two decades. The Scott Celani Band has performed live all over the U.S. and Canada, and the band’s music has been played or is being played on radio stations all over the world – having garnered rave reviews and extensive commercial radio play. With that as a backdrop, The Scott Celani Band also regularly showcases their tribute to one America’s greatest singer-songwriters of all time – the legendary Tom Petty. For this special show, the band performs classic hits from Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Mr. Petty’s solo catalog along with selections from The Traveling Wilburys. Along with 2 other band members, Scott is a member of the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame.

The Committed, playing Saturday at 1 p.m., is made of teenagers Joshua Marks (lead singer & guitarist), Joshua Strauss (bass player and backup vocals) and Ryker Spurlock (drums and backup vocals). The Committed have been together for a little over one year as a party band delivering classic rock and fan favorites from the 60s to the 2000s.

West of the Mark, hitting the stage at 7 p.m. Saturday, is a 4-piece band based out of Buffalo, NY. They were established in 2004 and continue to be the most in-demand country band throughout the Western and Central NY area. To date the band has performed nearly 1,500 shows. This year has included an unprecedented 3.5-year residency at a venue in Buffalo called The Stage. From October of 2021 through today, they have performed every Thursday night for “country night.”

The band is made up of seasoned musicians who treat the stage with respect and honor their craft. They have performed in every honky-tonk, juke joint, dance hall, club, county fair and festival in the area and continue to grow their reputation. Their setlist ranges from Johnny Cash, Alabama, artists throughout the 90’s, Chesney, Dierks Bentley, Kip Moore, Aldean, and others.
