SINCLAIRVILLE — As the end of the school year approaches, teachers and staff at Sinclairville Elementary work to provide their students a fun day to wrap up the year, this time coming in the form of an inflatable race on Wednesday.

The inflatable race comes as a part of the school’s annual field day. One year the event put on by the school was a flash mob, and though this year’s field day and inflatable race was slightly dampened by the rain in the afternoon, Superintendent Tammy Mangus said the day was “full of races, popcorn, dunk tanks, puzzles, challenges and fun.”

“Sinclairville Elementary School always does something special for their student’s at year’s end,” Mangus said. “One year it was a flash mob, this year, it was an inflatable race. Teachers and staff put their heart and soul into good cheer and laughter for Cassadaga’s PreK through fifth grade students.”

The event partners with the school’s Parent Teacher Organization and local volunteers to pull off a multi-station, “high-octane seven hours of fun”. Mangus said the field day and inflatable race was led by teacher Jonie Hale, and is “no small feat”.

The school’s field day also included their team meeting students at the bus morning drop off in their inflatable costumes, ranging from Spongebob and the Pillsbury Dough Boy to sharks, axolotls, dinosaurs, koalas and more.

“This is the perfect representation of the heart, passion and capacity our teams have for bringing joy to the lives of our students,” Mangus said.

Starting at $3.50/week.
