Not often do we experience 25 years of a leader committed to excellence. Here at Lakeshore Church, we have had that great privilege. Many in the community have also experienced his mission to “Reach Up and Reach Out, Reaching Him”.
Pastor Vinny, his wife Kim and their teenage children, Nate and Joanna, first came to Westfield in 1999 as an interim worship leader and pulpit supply for five months. It was then he recognized and responded to God’s calling into full-time ministry to fill the gap and lead our church family. His time with us has energized and ministered to each of us through shepherding, ministering and mentoring in a myriad of ways, often at the drop of a hat! His deep-held faith, strong love for God’s Word coupled with his ability to clearly communicate the truths in the Bible have inspired many. The unfailing support of his wife, Kim, has blessed us through powerful worship, creative and poignant music, drama and children’s programs.
Some highlights from his 25 years include organizing and participating in our church’s Guatemala Missions Trip, providing “thank you” goodies during Covid for our police, firefighters, EMS, hospital and nursing home employees; and who could forget the day-long Community Outreach in Moore Park that brought Convoy of Hope and many area churches and volunteers together to offer services, food and ministry to bless more than 1,500 guests from local families. Pastor Vinny served as Chaplain of the Westfield Fire Department on many Village committees and also actively participated in the Westfield Ministerial and their projects which included supplying motivational speakers for school assemblies, events at Moore Park and support for the Community Kitchen and Food Pantry.
We will never forget Pastor Vinny and Kim’s welcoming and loving hearts. Their personal connection with the congregants of all ages, as well as so many members of our community, will always be remembered and appreciated!
