Concert planned July 17 in Forestville

New Horizons will be performing in Forestville on July 17.
FORESTVILLE — A “Rock n’ Roll” outdoor concert, performed by The New Horizons Band, is coming back to Forestville on July 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion, 6 Cedar St.
This will be the second concert with Imagine Forestville and American Legion J. Carter Knapp Post 953 joining forces hosting and welcoming this most entertaining director and band back to Forestville.
“We are so grateful to not only have The New Horizons Band back, but we are also grateful to the American Legion who offered their facility to us for a second time.” Imagine Forestville President Aimee Rogers said. “We couldn’t have this event without their help.” Rogers continued, “Band conductor Dr. Kate McKay has planned an evening of fun, playing songs that will spark memories and nostalgia from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. To add to the fun, we are inviting attendees to come in their favorite outfit from those eras.”
New Horizons International Music Association is an international nonprofit organization that provides entry points to music making for adults, some of whom have no musical experience and many of whom were active in school music programs but have been inactive for a long period. “Many adults would like an opportunity to learn music in a group setting similar to that offered in schools,” Dr. McKay said. “Most New Horizons Music programs provide music instruction at all levels from beginner to advanced.”
The event will take place rain or shine so please bring your own chairs and come hungry. There will be a concessions stand to help raise money for Imagine Forestville.
It will be a busy day in Forestville on July 17. Come first to the Forestville Farmers Market from 1 to 5 p.m. and then on to the concert at 6:30.
