Counter-protest planned for Wednesday in Sunset Bay

Good Neighbors Getting it Done in Western New York is expecting to host 40-50 people for a protest rally on Wednesday at Sunset Bay, a small but largely Republican enclave where Cabana Sam’s Restaurant is hosting a CAWTILE (Citizens Against Wind Turbines in Lake Erie) rally. U.S. Rep. Nick Langworthy will be speaking along with State Sen. George Borrello, Assemblyman David DiPietro, Chautauqua County Legislator Tom Harmon and State Sen. Pat Galivan.

At 3:45 p.m. Good Neighbors Getting it Done in WNY will organize at the entrance to the beach community to rally and then peacefully parade in protest down to the beach.

The group will be protesting Langworthy’s votes and stances while serving the 23rd Congressional District.

“Langworthy has yet to come to his constituents in any open forum within his district, so we must seek him out to make our voices heard,” the group said. “We know if we are to keep our American democracy, our economy and our standing in the world; Congress, our federal law making body, must be a check on the Presidency.”
