Educational professionals celebrates 73rd Boss’s Night and Meeting

PORTLAND — The Chautauqua County Association of Educational Office Professionals marked a major milestone with the celebration of its 73rd Annual Boss’s Night and Meeting, held at the picturesque 21 Brix Winery. The event brought together nearly 50 attendees, including 11 school administrators and more than 30 dedicated office professionals, in a festive evening of recognition, celebration and camaraderie.

The evening was highlighted by the presentation of several prestigious awards. CCAEOP awarded its $250 Inspirational Scholarship to Keara Brady, a senior at the Brocton Central School District, in recognition of academic promise and personal perseverance. The $750 Academic Scholarship was awarded to Zachary MaGuire, a senior at Westfield Academy and Central School, celebrating outstanding scholastic achievement.

A key moment of the night was the presentation of the CCAEOP 2025 Administrator of the Year Award to Scott Cooper of Southwestern Central School District. Presented by Christine Mittner, the award recognizes Cooper’s inspiring leadership, unwavering dedication and positive impact on his school community.

In addition, Ashley Means, CEOE, from the Brocton Central School District, was honored as the CCAEOP 2025 Office Professional of the Year, applauded for her exceptional commitment, professionalism and service to education.

The event also featured the formal reinstallation of the CCAEOP Executive Board, officiated by Sydney Neasman, New York State Association of Educational Office Professionals (NYSAEOP) Vice President. The board members installed for the upcoming term include: Mittner, CCAEOP President; Means, CEOE, CCAEOP Vice President; Laurie Skinner, CCAEOP Secretary; Laurie Rubner, CCAEOP Treasurer; Elizabeth Link, CCAEOP Member at Large.

Following the ceremony, attendees enjoyed a buffet dinner and participated in lively festivities, including a Chinese Auction basket raffle and a 50-50 drawing.

The CCAEOP Executive Board expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who attended and supported the event, with special recognition given to Cathy McHenry, CEOE, Kathie Jarvis, CEOE, Colleen Clarke, CEOE, and Sydney Neasman, NYSAEOP Vice President for their dedication and long-distance travel to attend and support the local chapter.

As CCAEOP continues its mission to uplift and recognize educational office professionals across Chautauqua County, the 73rd Annual Boss’s Night served as a powerful reminder of the value and impact of these often-unsung heroes in the education system.
