During the annual Chautauqua County Fair there are many display booths in the Floral Hall. The town of Stockton display by Historian John Sipos shows much of the history of Stockton for the last 200 years. Stockton was named after one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, Richard Stockton. Stockton once held a Town Picnic since 1898 and the original poster is on display among many other items of memorabilia. Stockton was once called Delanti meaning a place where animals run wild and there are many wild flowers. Stockton has its own town government and the town supervisor is David Wilson. The blue ribbon was awarded to the display this week. Floral Hall is a historical building itself dating back to 1929 built by the Fredrickson Brothers Lumber of Cassadaga.
