Mayville/Chautauqua Lions Club members will be on hand July 16 at the American Legion.

MAYVILLE — On July 16, the Mayville/Chautauqua Lions Club will hold a fund-raising Barbecue at American Legion Post 493, from 3 to 6 p.m. Weidners Catering will be roasting chicken in front of the Legion, which will be served by Lions volunteers. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $15 or during pick-up for $16. Contact John Savage at 716 294-1716 about purchasing tickets prior to the event. Members will even deliver tickets to your house.

At the event, club members will be standing by to take orders. Just follow the signs at the American Legion parking lot, and they will deliver the meals through your car window. We include coleslaw, potatoes and a roll to make it a complete meal.

The Lions motto is, “We Serve.” And this is our main fundraiser for the year. Since 1917 Lions have improved health and well-being, strengthened local communities and supported those in need. Lions Club International is the largest membership-based organization in the world.
