Memorial Car Show set for Sunday

On Sunday, the Craig Sutton Memorial Car Show will take place at American Legion Post 62 in Dunkirk. Sutton, pictured above, was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps from 1970 to 1972, the U.S. Army National Guard from 1973 to 1997 and was employed at Al Tech Steel for 32 years as a wire drawer. In addition, he held positions of commander of the American Legion Post 62 and Chautauqua County commander. He also served with the Chautauqua County American Legion Honor Guard and Dunkirk Joint Veterans Honor Guard. He was instrumental in flag education for fourth-graders at schools where the children wrote essays on “What the flag means to them.” He enjoyed driving his 1968 Chevy Chevelle and ran the first car show many years ago. He is survived by his wife, Jean; three sons, Craig Jr., Kenneth, Matthew; and five grandchildren. The event will be from 1 to 5 p.m. The first 50 cars will receive a gift. Basket raffles, food and refreshments also will be available. From 2 to 5 pm., the Zen City band will be playing 1950s and ’60s music. Proceeds will benefit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, the Wounded Warrior Project, Rural Ministries and the American Legion Post 62 veterans.

Starting at $3.50/week.
