FREWSBURG – One person has been taken to a Buffalo area hospital following an early morning house fire.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, on Monday around 5 a.m. the Frewsburg Fire Department and several mutual aid departments responded to 50 Water St. for a residential structure fire.

One person was injured as a result of the fire and was transported to the Erie County Medical Center with serious injuries.

The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team and New York State Police responded to the scene to conduct an origin and cause fire investigation. Investigators determined that the fire originated on the second story of the structure and was caused by an electrical wiring issue within the structure.

The fire was ruled as accidental in nature.
