has been announced as the Fredonia Pomfret Republican Party’s sole candidate for the Fredonia Board of Trustees this fall.

Melanie Mann, the Fredonia Pomfret Republicans’ chair, told the OBSERVER Bird was nominated in a July 19 caucus.

Bird served as a Fredonia trustee from 2022-23, losing re-election in November ’23.

This fall, he’ll go up against Democratic Party candidates Leeann Lazarony and Christine Cruz Keefe. Two seats are up for election; the top two vote-getters gain seats.
