Guns, drugs seized in Brocton

An assault rifle and a handgun were seized as a result of a narcotics investigation in the village of Brocton.

Multiple search warrants were executed on Wednesday in the City of Dunkirk and the Village of Brocton by Narcotics Investigators from Dunkirk Police Department, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and Jamestown Police Department.

A search warrant was executed on a vehicle that was being operated by Jean C. Rodriguez-Diaz, 44, that was stopped on Rt. 20 by the Sheriff’s Office followed by Dunkirk Police Special Response Team assisting with a search warrant at 267 Lake Shore Dr. East in the City of Dunkirk and ending with a search of 32 Fay St. Upper Apt. in Brocton.

As a result of the searches investigators allegedly seized a quantity of cocaine, scales and packaging material for the sale and distribution of narcotics, an assault rifle with two high-capacity magazines and ammunition, and a 9 mm glock handgun with five high-capacity magazines and ammunition.

Rodriguez-Diaz was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, seven counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Rodriguez-Diaz was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for the Centralized Arraignment Program.
