Lakewood Store Sells $1M Powerball Ticket

LAKEWOOD – The region has a new millionaire – before taxes.

The New York Lottery today announced one second-prize-winning ticket was sold for the Aug. 27 Powerball drawing.

The ticket was sold at CROSBY’S #40079, 5 E. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood. The prize-winning ticket is worth $1 million. The odds of winning the second-prize in Powerball are one in 11,688,053.52, according to the lottery.

Two third-prize winning tickets worth $50,000 each were sold in Hornell and Newburgh. The first-prize winning tickets hasn’t yet been announced. The odds of winning the top prize are one in 292,201,338.
