Before 10 p.m. Friday, a motorist near 5023 Route 20 and close to Fredonia struck a horse that had become loose. Fredonia and Brocton Fire Departments responded as did Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies. Two sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital by Fredonia Ambulance 13. The department also noted that the horse died in the accident.
