Silver Creek library lists coming September events

Faux Stained Glass for ages 12 and older is Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m.

SILVER CREEK — Anderson-Lee Library, located at 43 Main St. has announced programming for the month of September. Programs are free and open to the public.

Registration is required unless stated otherwise, to ensure enough seating and materials for all patrons attending the program. To register for programs, call the library at 716-934-3468, stop by 43 Main Street, or visit www.andersonleelibrary.org and click on our events tab for easy online registration. You can also sign up for email/text reminders when you register online!

The library will be closed Monday, Sept. 1 for Labor Day.

— Lego Club for ages 5-12, Thursday, Sept. 4 at 6:30 p.m. Build the challenge of the day, pick a challenge card or free build. Your choice! Limit of 10 children and pre-registration is required.

— Annual Used Book Sale: Stop in for some great deals! Presale on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 5:30 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 11, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 12, noon to 5 p.m., $3 bag sale on Saturday Sept. 13, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

— Pre-school Storytime for children ages 2-5 on Thursday mornings Sept. 18 and 25 with Miss Jill at 10:30 am. Children will participate in reading, singing, rhymes and fun crafts. Pre-registration is requested.

— School Age Storytime for children 6-12 years of age on Thursday mornings Sept. 18 and 25 at 10:30 am with Miss Amy. Stories, crafts, games, and other activities are offered. Pre-registration is requested.

— Body Art Day for all ages, Saturday, Sept. 20 at 10:30am. Join us for fun and exploration with temporary tattoos, face and body crayons, tattoo markers and stencils, and face painting! All ages are welcome and registration is required so that we may ensure enough materials for all.

— Faux Stained Glass for ages 12 and older, Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. Using a simple technique, we will make stained glass like creations that you can use to decorate your home or gift to someone special! Pre-registration is required.

— The Secret Society of the Twisted Stitchers: Fridays from 2 to 4 p.m., except for Friday Sept. 12. This club is for all who love handiwork. Ages 10 and older and all skill levels are welcome! Please bring your own supplies. Just getting started? For knitting, bring size 10/10.5 bamboo needles and a light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). For crochet, bring a size H hook and light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). Come and learn or come and work on a project with others who love to knit, crochet, embroider, quilt etc.! No registration required. You do not need to commit to each week to attend. Please stop in and stitch!

Anderson-Lee Library is open to the public Monday and Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library is closed Wednesday and Sunday.
