Two arrested in Dunkirk drug bust

An investigation into narcotics activity in the City of Dunkirk ended Thursday night with execution of two search warrants.
At around 8 p.m. narcotics investigators from the Dunkirk Police Department, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, the Jamestown Police Department and Dunkirk Police Special Response Team executed the search warrants at 114 S. Gazelle St. and at 704 Park Ave. in the City of Dunkirk. Located inside 114 S. Gazelle St. at the time of the search warrant was Germaine M. Dias, 48, and Joseph Szach, 69.
As a result of the search investigators allegedly seized 30.32 grams of cocaine, 128.58 grams of crack cocaine, 4.5 grams of fentanyl, a quantity of hydrocodone and suboxone, scales and packaging material used for the sale and distribution of narcotics and $359. US currency.
Dias was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Dias was transported to the Dunkirk Police Department and later arraigned in the City of Dunkirk Court. Additional arrests are pending.
