Silver Creek seniors meet

SILVER CREEK – The Silver Creek Seniors met on Tuesday, Sept 2. There were 24 members in attendance including Don Adams Junior and his brother John.

Everyone brought their own “Brown Bag” lunch and some members also brought sweets and subs for everyone to enjoy.

At the next meeting on Sept 9 , there will be Hot Dogs on the grill and several salads and desserts. Summer is almost gone so it’s great to cook out on the grill.

President Sally Conover led the Pledge to the Flag and also the singing of God Bless America. The Blessing for the day was titled “Everyone is Special” read by Chaplain Pauline Flitt. After the Blessing Sally told a few jokes plus a joke from an anonymous donor. No one could guess who it was from. Whoever it was “thank you” and keep them coming!

All members who sign in are eligible for the drawing of the gifts. The winners were: Dixie Carlson who has been a winner for quite a few weeks. Janice Snyder and Eleanor Lemiszko.

The lucky 50/50 winners were: Don Adams, Gene Chesbro and Deanna Borrello. Winning the wheel spins were: John Czuba, Al Wilson, John Adams (twice) Janice and Earl Sheeler.

President Sally Conover called Bingo. The following members won. Ginny Chesbro, Gene (three times), Randy Nurmi (twice), John Czuba, Pauline (twice), Earl and Al. Table two was the luckiest table for winning Bingo.

Earl and Ruth Sheeler brought more zucchini and beets to share with everyone. Summer is almost gone and so will all the fresh vegetables.

All seniors are welcome to join the fun on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. every week or whenever they can. For more information call Lorrie at 717-785-1074.

Starting at $3.50/week.
