CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

– David L. Babcock Jr., 57, of Silver Creek was charged Sept. 22, driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, failure to keep right, operating out of class, and making an unsafe lane change. According to officials, at about 7:39 a.m., deputies responded to a motorcycle accident in Silver Creek. The operator of the motorcycle was identified as Babcock Jr. He was transported to ECMC to be evaluated for injuries. Upon further investigation it was found Babcock to be allegedly operating the motor vehicle while intoxicated. Babcock will be in Hanover Town Court.

– Gilberto Martines, 44, of Ripley, was charged Oct. 21 with petit larceny. According to officials at around 8:15 p.m., deputies responded to a business in the town of Ripley for a shoplifting complaint. Upon further investigation it was found that Martines allegedly did steal merchandise from the business without paying. Martines will appear in Ripley Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

– Alec Pentz, 29, of North East, Pa., was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia; Sean T. Curtin, 40, of Jamestown was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, and two counts of second-degree aggravated unlicensed operator, and operating without an interlock device; and Stephanie Green, 48, of Dunkirk was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. According to police, On Oct. 17, at about 11:30 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on West Sixth Street after observing a moving violation. Upon investigation, it was found that Pentz, Curtin, and Green allegedly were in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine along with a scale with drug residue on it used to weigh illegal narcotics. It was also found that Pentz has an outstanding warrant issued by the Fredonia Police Department, and the operator of the vehicle, Curtin, was driving the vehicle while his license was suspended. Police said that Curtin’s license has been suspended 21 times in the past four years. Curtin also was issued several traffic tickets. Each was placed into custody, and taken to Jamestown City Jail. Each will be in Jamestown City Court later.

– Todd A. Delahoy Jr., 27, of Jamestown, was charged Oct. 22 with resisting arrest, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. According to police, at about 1:10 a.m., officers were on patrol in the area of Arterial and South Main streets when they observed Delahoy, who had an active Jamestown City Court bench warrant. Upon making contact with Dellahoy, he allegedly refused officers’ commands and was taken into custody after a brief struggle. He was taken to city jail, and upon further investigation, Delahoy was found to be in alleged possession of a quantity of cocaine. He will be in city court later.
