Bellando seeking Portland supervisor post

Ed Bellando

PORTLAND — Ed Bellando is seeking election to the position of town supervisor “because I believe our best days are still ahead.

“I’ve always been proud to call Portland my hometown. Even when life and career took me elsewhere for a time, my heart never left this community. I visited often, stayed involved, and always looked forward to the day I could return full-time. I am a BCS alumni and have been married for the last 46 years to my wife Natalie (Johnson), also a BCS alumni. We raised three daughters and have two grandchildren.

“This campaign isn’t just about me — it’s about us. The people who live here, work here, and care deeply about the future of Portland. I want to hear from you. Together, we can create the kind of community our children and grandchildren will be proud to call home.

After earning my Bachelor’s degree in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University, I spent many years working as an Engineer and Project Manager. I managed projects across the U.S. and around the world — some small, others reaching budgets of up to six million dollars. That experience taught me the importance of teamwork, communication, and accountability.

“When I retired, I came home to the place that has always meant the most to me — Portland. I

wanted to take what I’ve learned and give something back. I served as a Village of Brocton Trustee from December 2023 through December 2024, and I also had the honor of serving as

Chairman of the Chautauqua County Conservative Party from 1990 through 1992, where I previously served as Secretary and Treasurer.

“As a retired professional, I now have the time, focus, and dedication to devote myself fully to the improvement of our community. I’m running for Town Supervisor because I want to build on our town’s strengths, address long-standing challenges, and create a more vibrant future for every resident.

“I believe in transparency — open communication between our town leaders and our citizens. You deserve to know how decisions are made and where every dollar goes. I believe in responsible budgeting — making sure that every investment benefits the people who live here. And I believe in revitalization — finding smart, practical ways to breathe new life into our town while preserving what makes it special.

“With my background in design, process management, and budget control, I know how to plan, prioritize, and follow through. My goal is to bring that same structure and accountability to every aspect of town operations — because the people of Portland deserve leadership that listens, plans, and delivers. Let’s move forward together — and keep putting the Town of Portland Community First.

“I ask for your vote — on the Conservative line — for Town of Portland supervisor.”

Bellando said voter rides are available for those who need them. Call 716-467-3353.

Starting at $3.50/week.
