Shari Miller seeking supervisor post in town

Pictured is Shari Miller who has served the town of Dunkirk since 2013 and looks forward to continuing that service.
Shari Miller is running for the supervisor seat in the town of Dunkirk. She has received the endorsement of the Republican Committee and hopes to receive broad based support in the Nov. 4 election.
As part of her door to door campaign and while a member on the Town Council, she has listened to the concerns of the residents and is ready to represent them.
Miller is a 31- year resident who moved to the town in January of 1994. She is currently serving on the Town Council and had previously served on the Town Planning Board, in which she had held the chair position for several years. She was also a very active member in the creation of the first ever Town of Dunkirk Comprehensive Plan and the revision of the Town Zoning Code Book.
She is an advocate for respectful and thoughtful growth of the town of Dunkirk for our residents and hopes that we can look at the larger picture, which means looking outside of the Town lines and working with other regional communities. She believes that homeowners make neighborhoods and neighborhoods make communities. It is through communities that we can make a better Chautauqua County.
She holds degrees from Monroe Community College and SUNY Fredonia and holds certificates from Cornell University’s Administrative Management Institute and FEMA. She is a lifelong learner who continues to take classes and workshops with The New York Federation of Towns and Villages, The New York Planning Federation, Southern Tier West, Cornell University, and SUNY.
She currently is employed with SUNY Fredonia as the Facilities Contracts Administrator and was previously the Director of Purchasing where she was responsible for procurements in excess of $12M annually that meet Federal, State, SUNY, and Education Law requirements. Shari feels that fiscal responsibility and transparency to taxpayers is job one.
She and her family own and operate Miller’s Apples, a century farm, where her husband, Mike, is fourth generation. Miller’s Apples is very supportive of our community and participates in the Forestville and Fredonia Farmer’s Markets.
