Brocton and Portland Fire Departments as well as the State Police at Fredonia responded to Route 5 and Woodcrest Drive after a vehicle struck a pole bringing down wires. The accident closed the route from Berry to Van Buren roads. The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. in Pomfret near the Portland town border. A 17-year-old, the driver, was reported injured in the accident by troopers.
