Costumes are a treat

Dunkirk Intermediate School held its annual Halloween costume parade Friday. The parade began at 2 p.m., as Principal Kim Texter and Assistant Principal Stephanie Berghold opened the front doors. Together, dressed as “six, seven”, the principals juggled their hands as they led a sea of third-to-sixth grade students out the doors and around the sidewalks surrounding the building. One by one, classes walked in line, showing off their Halloween costumes for parents, guardians and guests lined up around the school. Costumes included dragons and dinosaurs; superheroes and princesses; and popular foods such as a burger, french fries, a hot dog, and even Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. Tammy Notarnicola’s third grade class capped off the costume parade, with Avery Carmen proudly singing into a microphone as part of her K-Pop Demon Hunters themed Rumi costume as the last student in line.
