Flea market planned Friday, Saturday in Sheridan

SHERIDAN — A flea market will be at the VFW Memorial Post, 2556 Route 20. The hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.to 1 p.m. Saturday. There is at least 90% different merchandise each month. This month will feature Thanksgiving and Christmas with blow molds and vintage ornaments plus, vintage toys, household, antiques, Bills collectibles and so much more.

The “Cash for Christmas” is an ongoing 50-50 drawing that started with the first flea market at the beginning of October. Thanks to all, it is building quickly. One lucky winner will receive half of the amount for “Cash for Christmas.” The other half will be for our derserving veterans. Tickets will be available through the first flea market in December. One ticket is $2 and three tickets are $5. The more tickets you buy, the better your odds and the bigger the stuffing for your holiday sock.

The winner will be drawn on Saturday, Dec. 6. You do not have to be present to win. So when you receive a call from a number you don’t recognize, it might be Santa with your “Cash for Christmas”!

Once again the VFW fish fry was voted to the top five best fish fries in the Observer/Post Journal “Best of the Best” contest. While browsing and shopping at the flea market, please fill out a ticket to win two free fish dinners. No purchase is necessary for the free dinners. The winner of the free dinner will be drawn on Saturday at 1 p.m. Winner need not be present. In addition to the flea market, there will be a Friday night fish fry and Saturday breakfast and lunch served by the VFW.
