Resource Center names clinical services manager

Sarah Pillitteri

The Resource Center is pleased to announce the hiring of Sarah Pillittieri as its clinical services manager.

In her new role, Pillittieri will oversee The Resource Center’s health-related services (occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech/language therapy) in TRC’s Diagnostic and Treatment Centers at 75 Jones & Gifford Avenue in Jamestown and 186 Lake Shore Drive West in Dunkirk.

“I hope to strengthen and streamline our clinical operations to ensure we are providing the highest quality of care to the individuals we serve,” she said. “I hope to foster a clinic environment that empowers both our patients and our team, while contributing to the mission of TRC.”

Pillittieri, a Jamestown native, earned a bachelor of science degree in business and economics and global health studies from Allegheny College before obtaining her master degree in public health from the University at Buffalo’s School of Public Health and Health Professions. While at UB and Allegheny College, Pillittieri interned in TRC’s clinical services department, and those experiences inspired her to want to return to The Resource Center and work to improve the health outcomes of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

“I decided to pursue my master of public health, as I always knew I wanted to be in healthcare – just not necessarily on the front lines,” she said. “Through two summers of internships at TRC, I developed a strong passion for the individuals we serve and the history surrounding The Resource Center and deinstitutionalization movement.

“After interning, I knew The Resource Center was where I was meant to be. The experiences I had as an intern, collaborating with community organizations and the Mobile Market, were just some of the many that shaped me into who I am today. Working in healthcare administration allows me to follow my passion, support our mission and drive our clinical operations from behind the scenes.”

When she’s not at work, Pillittieri enjoys golfing, skiing, being on Chautauqua Lake, spending time with friends and family, and listening to live music.

TRC officials are glad Pillittieri chose to join the agency after completing her studies.

“We’re excited to welcome Sarah as our clinical services manager,” said Heather C. Brown, vice president of clinical operations. “The fact that Sarah was already familiar with The Resource Center enabled her to hit the ground running, and we know she’ll enjoy many successes as she strengthens and expands our clinical services.”

TRC’s clinical services are open to people with disabilities and the general public. For information, phone 716-661-1541 for the Jamestown office or 716-366-6125 for the Dunkirk office.

Starting at $3.50/week.
