SHERIDAN — The Lake Shore Flea Market, which is normally held at the Sheridan VFW Memorial Post the first Friday and Saturday of the month, 2556 Route 20, has been canceled for January.

The fish fry and bake sale are still taking place.

The VFW says “thank you” to all those fish fry supporters. Though the VFW did not win, loyal supporters voted it the third best fish fry in the OBSERVER/Post-Journal “Best of the Best” contest. That’s the third best in the entire county.

The Cash for Christmas 50-50 took place from October through the December market. This year’s winner was generous. He donated his winnings back to the veterans. So, the veterans received all of the cash. A big thank you to Brian Meyer of Dunkirk for his generosity.

The VFW ladies auxiliary will be selling sweet treats during the Friday night fish fry. Enjoy homemade baked goodies for your after dinner desserts or take some home for later.
