Jamestown man facing drug charges

After an investigation into narcotics activity in the town of Ellicott resulted in the seizure of cocaine, a Jamestown man is facing charges.

Matthew Bindics, 35, of Jamestown, was charged Jan. 5 with first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.

According to officials at about 12:30 p.m., a search warrant was executed at 44 Glidden Ave., in the town of Ellicott by Narcotics Investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Jamestown Police Department. Bindics was at the residence, and as a result of the search investigators seized 295.5 grams of cocaine, scales and packaging used for the sale and distribution of narcotics and $4,555.

Bindics was placed into custody, and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail.
