Five county Dem committees endorse Gies’ run

Aaron Gies, candidate for New York’s 23rd Congressional District, announced Monday that his campaign has been endorsed by the Democratic County Committees of Cattaraugus, Erie, Niagara, Steuben and Tioga counties.

Cattaraugus Chair Mandy Bushnell wrote: “From the first time I spoke with Aaron, I felt he decided to run for all the right reasons. He is the best candidate to be our district’s representative because he listens to all the people of our district and has the drive to work to make our area thrive and prosper.”

Erie Chair Jeremy Zellner wrote: “Erie County Democrats are proud to have endorsed a candidate who will take the side of working families, rural hospitals, upstate’s small business owners, and all those who have been hurt by Donald Trump’s MAGA agenda.”

Tioga Chair Max Della Pia concluded: “The Tioga County Democratic Committee is proud to have been the first to endorse Aaron Gies as our candidate for Congress. This nation desperately needs public servants, people who are motivated by service rather than by power, money, or ego. Aaron’s concern for others is reflected in everything he does.”

Reflecting on these statements, Gies said: “These early and important endorsements reflect something bigger than a political campaign. They reflect a shared recognition that families in this district want stability, affordability, and leadership that shows up.”

“Since announcing my candidacy in August, I’ve spent time at over 79 events in communities throughout the district. I go to listen first. What I hear is consistent. People are working hard, but the basics feel further out of reach. I hear that they want a good life they can afford, a good life not stolen by corruption in Washington. A good life shouldn’t be a luxury for insiders. It should be there for everyone. Our campaign is committed to achieving that shared goal,” Gies continued.

With a combined population of 750,000, the nine counties that make up New York’s 23rd District stretch from Tioga County in the east, across the Southern Tier to Lake Erie in the west, and north to Niagara County – some 6,000 square miles.

“In our campaign, we talk about the Common Good, what people sincerely want for one another: dependable healthcare, stable jobs, safe homes, and time with family. These aren’t partisan or controversial–they’re shared priorities. And they become achievable when we choose to come together and look out for each other.”
