Library sets events for month

Valentine’s Day Crafts and Cookies are set for Feb. 14.
Anderson-Lee Library, located at 43 Main Street in Silver Creek has announced programming for the month of February. Programs are free and open to the public. Registration is required unless stated otherwise, to ensure enough seating and materials for all patrons attending the program. To register for programs, call the library at 716-934-3468, stop by 43 Main Street, or visit www.andersonleelibrary.org and click on our events tab for easy online registration. You can also sign up for email/text reminders when you register online!
The library will be closed on Monday, February 16 for President’s Day.
Pre-school Storytime for children ages 2-5 on Thursday mornings February 5, 12, 19, and 26 with Miss Jill at 10:30 am. Children will participate in reading, singing, rhymes and fun crafts. Pre-registration is requested.
School Age Storytime for children 6-12 years of age on Thursday mornings February 12, 19, and 26 at 10:30 am with Miss Amy. Stories, crafts, games, and other activities are offered. Pre-registration is requested.
The Secret Society of the Twisted Stitchers: Fridays from 2-4 pm. This club is for all who love handiwork. Ages 10 and older and all skill levels are welcome! Please bring your own supplies. Just getting started? For knitting, bring size 10/10.5 bamboo needles and a light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). For crochet, bring a size H hook and light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). Come and learn or come and work on a project with others who love to knit, crochet, embroider, quilt etc.! No registration required. You do not need to commit to each week to attend. Please stop in and stitch!

New! Fiber Arts Club for ages 10-17: Thursday February 5 and 19 from 4-5:30pm. This month we will learn to embroider and will start with the alphabet. All materials are provided. Registration is required and spots are limited.
Make a Love Suncatcher: Saturday, February 7 at 12pm. For ages 6 and older. Create a suncatcher for Valentine’s Day. Registration required.
Story Shapes Workshop with Rebecca Cuthbert, Thursday, February 12 at 6 pm. Local author, editor, and writing instructor Rebecca Cuthbert will take workshop participants through five different “story shapes,” graphics designed to help writers outline different types of fictional stories. Each participant will then choose a story shape to work with for a group free write session, with optional idea sharing afterward. Ideal for teens and adults; all skill and experience levels welcome. Refreshments will be served. For the workshop, bring a notebook and pen or your laptop. Please register in advance.
Valentine’s Day Crafts and Cookies: Saturday, February 14 from 11-1pm. All ages are welcome to stop by during the stated hours to make Valentine’s Day crafts and decorate cookies. There will be several craft stations set up throughout the library, along with a cookie decorating station. Try one or two crafts or try them all! Please register in advance.
Chaos Crafting: Tuesday, February 17 from 4-5:30pm and 6-7:30pm. We are pulling out all of the odds and ends from our crafting stash along with glue guns, glue sticks, and lots of masking tape and you get to craft to your hearts content! All ages are welcome and two sessions will be offered. Registration is appreciated but not mandatory. If you can stop in at the last minute, please do!
Drop in Lego Club: Thursday, February 19 from 2-4pm and 6-7:30pm. 2 sessions offered and all ages are invited to drop in during the stated hours to create with our Lego collection. No registration necessary.
Anderson-Lee Library is open to the public Monday and Tuesday from 12-8 pm, Thursday 10 am to 8 pm, Friday 12-5 pm, and Saturday 10 am-2 pm. The library is closed Wednesday and Sunday. Fax, copy, and 3D printing service is available anytime the library is open.
